Haus of Shizu is a private mountain villa at Kasar Devi Ridge, Kasar Devi, Almora, Uttarakhand 263601. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit hausofshizu.com, contact us or stay with us, and what we do with it.

02What we collect
When you contact us or book
- Your name and phone number, and the messages you send us on WhatsApp, Instagram, phone or email.
- Booking details: your dates, number of guests, pet details and any requests.
- Payment details that come with your payment, such as the payer's name, UPI ID or bank account name, and the transaction reference. We never ask for or store card numbers, PINs or OTPs.
When you check in
- Details from the government photo ID of every guest, such as name, address, photo and ID number.
- For foreign nationals, passport and visa details, which we are required by law to report to the authorities.
When you visit this website
- This website has no forms or accounts, so we don't collect your name or contact details here.
- The Meta Pixel and cookies record which pages you visit and when you tap the WhatsApp, Call or Airbnb buttons, along with technical details such as your IP address, browser and device, and the ad that brought you here. See Cookies & Meta Pixel.
- If you arrive from one of our ads, our WhatsApp buttons may add a short ad code to your pre-filled WhatsApp message, so we know which ad you saw. You can delete it before sending.
- Our fonts load from Google Fonts and the site is hosted by Netlify. Both receive your IP address and browser details when the page loads.
03How we use it
- To reply to you, confirm your booking and manage your stay.
- To check in guests and keep the guest records required by law, including reporting foreign guests' stays (Form C) and sharing records with the police when they ask.
- To take payments, make refunds and settle any damage.
- To keep guests, neighbours and the villa safe.
- To measure how our ads perform and show our ads to people likely to be interested.
We never sell your personal information.
06How long we keep it
- Guest records and ID details are kept for as long as the law requires, then deleted.
- Booking and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Messages and enquiries are deleted when we no longer need them.
- Information collected by the Meta Pixel is kept by Meta under its own policy.
07Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
- Correct or update your information.
- Delete your information, except what we must keep by law.
- Stop using information you gave us with your consent.
Email hritvikverma1209@gmail.com and we'll reply as soon as we can, within 30 days at the latest. If you're not happy with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
08Keeping it safe
Only the hosts who run Haus of Shizu can see your booking and ID details. If we keep a copy or record of your ID, we store it securely and only for as long as the law requires. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your information.
09Children
This website isn't aimed at children. We only collect a child's details, such as their ID at check-in, from the parent or guardian who books the stay.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
